Head Teacher Message – End of Term (26th June 2020)

Dear Parent/Carer,

This session has been a very difficult one and I wish to offer my thanks to our young people. I would like them to know that we are all thinking of them and that we are very much looking forward to welcoming them back in August. Have a great summer and please look after yourselves.

Thanks also to you, parents/carers for your support, patience and understanding. Things have not been ‘normal’ since March and it has been difficult to provide as much information as we would have wanted to, given the changing context at both local and national level. We are currently now preparing for pupils to return full-time on 12 August and will communicate our plans in early August.

Finally, I would offer my thanks to all staff within the school. This has been a challenging time and I think we would all be keen to return to the learning and teaching that we know, as soon as is possible, and safe to do. I would also like to offer particular thanks to colleagues who will move on from the school, to other establishments next session or retiring, including Ms Ansell (Art & Design), Mrs Brisley (Modern Languages), Mrs Graham (Modern Languages), Mrs Balfour (Social Subjects), Mr Carlin (Social Subjects), Mrs Croome (Science), Ms Khosrowpour (Business Education), Ms Lewis (Science and Social Subjects) and Mr Spells (Librarian). Your contributions to St. Augustine’s High School have been greatly appreciated by all members of the school community and we wish you well in this new chapter of your life.

Regards,

M McGee
