Parents/visitors to the school
If you, or someone you know, is coming to the school for a meeting or to collect a pupil, please come to the Broomhouse Road entrance, not the South Gyle Access one. This is because you could be stood waiting for a long time to get in.
Pupils should NEVER open the door to an adult visitor, they should alert a member of the school staff.
QUARRY WATER IS STONE COLD AND CAN KILL: STAY SAFE STAY OUT!
In warmer weather the temptation is to cool down by jumping/playing in open water. Two boys recently drowned in separate incidents whilst cooling off in lakes with friends. Their deaths are typical of around 400 accidental drownings each year across the UK. Quarries and reservoirs are usually very deep and the water very cold. Cold water shock causes you to gasp involuntarily and increase your rate of breathing – the two can combine to cause death in less than 2 minutes! Please be careful this summer.
