Athletics
Any pupils who would like to be entered for the Scottish Schools Indoor Athletics Championships in March or the Scottish Schools Cross Country in February should see Mr. Murray in the PE department before the holidays (closing date is just after we come back in January).
These events are pitched at a high standard and certainly not for beginners – you will need to have a note of your PB (personal best time/distance) for the event you want to enter as there are qualifying entry standards.
Girls Football – Wednesdays 15:45-16:45
All girls are welcome, no skill or experience needed.
Come and play football for an hour, relax and have fun!
Homework Club
Eve ry Tuesday in the Library after school 3.15 – 4.30pm approximately. Refreshments provided.
Mass
Lunchtime Mass on Monday (20th) at 1.30pm in the Oratory, all welcome.
S1 Textiles catch up session
Anyone from S1 who hasn’t finished or collected their keyring is welcome to attend a textiles session in FT02 Miss Ellis’ room on Tuesday 21st and/or Wednesday 22nd
S4&5 – June 2020 Attendance Reward Trip
Participation in the June 2020 Attendance Reward Trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach requires 95%+ average attendance for the whole school year. Letters with instructions for signing up will be issued, to pupils who have currently achieved 95%+, at the beginning of next term. Any questions in the meantime, please see Mrs Connor or Mrs Lovatt.
S4 and S5 – Interested in Medicine

Medic Insight Edinburgh and the completely free-of-charge programme we offer for students in years S4 and S5, school students are given the opportunity to gain medical work experience as possible.
We run a programme which aims to provide these students with an initial insight into medicine and help students, through our events, decide whether or not medicine is a programme of study they may wish to embark upon.
S4 Day Event
Medic Insight Day 2019 – Saturday 21st March 2020 @ Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
Applications for this will open on the 10th of January.
The event will consist of talks from medical students and doctors followed by an afternoon of interactive workshops all designed to provide an initial insight into what a career in medicine could look like.
S5 Week Event
Medic Insight Week 1 – Monday 15th June – Friday 19th June 2020
Medic Insight Week 2 – Monday 22nd June – Friday 26th June 2020
Both weeks @ various sites around Edinburgh and the Lothians.
Applications for this will open on the 17th February and will close on 23rd February. Week applications will be subject to a competitive application process and places will be allocated following marking and will not be issued on a first come first serve basis.
